ROUND ONE |
|
We started the series today after a long delay due to
the weed problem! and what a beautiful day, with a
fresh SW breeze, and really warm sunshine. Roger was in
fine form, winning five of the six races, with Neil
chasing his stern and putting the pressure on, which
paid of in race three with a win, and four second
places.
The rest of the fleet did not fair so well, with Tom
having battery trouble, yours truly with a winch
problem, and we still are picking up the odd pieces of
weed, which ruins the performance, this resulted in no
less than eight DNFs (Did not finish)
ROUND TWO
Another good SW breeze, at times just on the top
of No1's kept us all happy, except Roger, who had
major gear failure with his sail winch which put
him out of the racing for the day.
Mick Giles was on top form, with a win in race
one and race five, and two third places to add
to his score. Neil won race four and the final
race, and two second places, to put him in the
lead for the series.
The weed is still a problem as short strands
attach themselves to the keel and or rudder, with
devastating effect on performance.
